About the Womens American Basketball Association
WABA

Founded in 2017 by Marsha Blount, Owner & CEO, the Women’s American Basketball Association (WABA) was created to extend professional playing careers and expand access across the women’s basketball landscape.
WABA exists to provide structured competitive opportunities for athletes while simultaneously cultivating leadership pathways for owners, coaches, officials, and front-office professionals. We operate as more than a league — we are a platform for career advancement.

Since our inception, hundreds of athletes have leveraged WABA exposure to secure overseas contracts, coaching positions, and basketball-related professional opportunities. Our ecosystem supports growth at every level of the game.

We are committed to:

Professional development

Competitive excellence

Community engagement

Sustainable growth in women’s sports

WABA stands at the intersection of opportunity and visibility.

We are the League of Opportunity.

It’s Our Time.
