'Player Spotlight' Nicole Collins @cole_world0413
My name is Nicole Collins. I go by "Cole." I was born and raised in Atlanta. I have been with the Atlanta Angels since their inaugural season. I have been a Captain all 6 seasons. I am also entering my 2nd season as a professional football player for the Atlanta Phoenix where I play Defensive Tackle and Defensive End.
I love the Angels just to see the growth of the program and the WABA league has been amazing. I can only imagine what's in store for the Angels and the WABA league. I get asked a lot why I decided to play tackle? Besides the thrill of taking all my frustrations out on the field I really do it because I believe that's how my father lives on. He was a great football player and wore #56. Every time I put on that jersey I feel different like he's right there next to me. He's my 12th man. (my football fans will get it.)
As a rookie I got nominated for Rookie of the Year. I got nominated for Trench Player of the Year. Getting nominated for those as a rookie that knew the game but didn't know how to play the game was huge. Also getting nominated for those made the league aware of me so no easy pass. I have to work harder this second season to prove my Rookie season wasn't beginners luck. I'm prepared for everything coming my way this season
